When Lorraine Tilson approached us to construct a web presence for her cranberry operation we were very excited. Lorraine is a local entrepreneurial celebrity and we welcomed the opportunity to work with her.
The site was graphically designed around her new logo which demanded a fun, cheerful look and feel that reflects upon the companies marketing plan. To enhance the functionality of the interface we used Javascript for the navigation mouseovers.
The largest area of the site is an extensive recipe section. We decided to go the extra distance here, and incorporated a format that would allow the user to print recipe cards, cut them out and add them to a recipe box collection.
For the e-card function, we opted to use the robust features of PHP programming (Hypertext Preprocessor Technologies) linked to a MySQL database. This method greatly reduced the amount of HTML programming and allows for quick and easy addition of new cards.
The database functionality is also utilized to manage the Cranberry Lady mail list as well as an upcoming product section for a line of cranberry products that Lorraine is currently developing.
